This is the Transformative Education Research Group Web site (incorporating 'Cultural Studies of Science & Mathematics Education'), established in 2004 and located at Curtin's Science and Mathematics Education Centre.
This Doctoral unit enables students to develop an in-depth understanding of constructivist theory. Students explore contemporary constructivist theory and its intersection with critical social theory and postmodernism. This exploration involves reflective thinking about learning during the unit and thinking creatively about practical implications.

This Web site provides resources for Masters and Postgraduate Diploma research projects (SMEC 691, 692, 591, 592).- This Masters unit challenges taken-for-granted assumptions about curriculum. Students explore how various curriculum images determine their attitudes and beliefs about teaching and learning. Whilst curriculum discourse is often restricted to elaborations on the 'What' and the 'How' of curriculum, we also explore the 'Why' and the 'Who'. The question of Who is the Self that teaches? is explored by use of narrative, envisioning and self-study.
